Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 1st, 2026  ·  Abar Solutions, Surrey, British Columbia, Canada

This policy explains what personal information Abar Solutions collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and applicable Canadian federal privacy law.

1. Who we are

Abar Solutions ("Abar Solutions", "we", "us", "our") is a residential cleaning company operating in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information under our control, including information handled on our behalf by the service providers described in section 6.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact details — your name, email address, and phone number.
  • Property and service details — service address, property type, number and type of rooms, requested service, cleaning frequency, and appointment date and time.
  • Event details — where you book event cleaning: event type, date, venue type, and expected guest count.
  • Messages — anything you write in a booking note, inquiry form, email, or text message to us.
  • Access and household information — entry instructions, alarm or lock box codes, pet information, allergies or product sensitivities, and any special conditions you disclose so we can deliver the service safely.
  • Payment information — processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers on our systems.

Information collected automatically

  • Booking progress — while you use our online quote tool, your selections are stored temporarily in your own browser (session storage) so you don't lose them between steps. This is cleared when you close the tab.
  • Basic technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected through standard web logs and any analytics described in section 9.

3. Why we collect it

We collect personal information only for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, namely to:

  • Prepare quotes and confirm bookings;
  • Deliver the cleaning services you request, safely and to the agreed scope;
  • Process payments, deposits, and invoices;
  • Communicate with you about your appointment, including confirmations, reminders, and changes;
  • Respond to inquiries, service concerns, and claims;
  • Meet our obligations under our Client Service Agreement and applicable law;
  • Where you have consented, send you service updates, offers, or review requests.

We do not use your personal information for any new purpose without first obtaining your consent, unless the law permits or requires it.

4. Consent

By requesting a quote, booking a service, or contacting us, you consent to our collecting, using, and disclosing your personal information as described in this policy. Where we need consent for a distinct purpose — such as sending marketing messages or photographing completed work — we ask for it separately.

Electronic messages. Marketing emails and text messages are sent only with your consent, in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe method. Transactional messages about a confirmed booking — such as appointment confirmations and reminders — are not marketing messages.

Withdrawing consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent to essential processing may mean we can no longer provide the service. Contact us using the details in section 11.

5. Photography

We photograph completed work only with your explicit written consent, obtained at the time of booking. We do not capture, retain, or distribute images that include identifiable personal documents, valuables, private correspondence, or personally identifiable belongings. You may withdraw photography consent in writing at any time; withdrawal applies to future appointments and does not affect media already captured under prior consent.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as necessary to deliver our services, with:

  • Our cleaning staff and contractors — limited to the information needed to reach your property and complete the job.
  • Service providers that operate our systems on our behalf, including our customer relationship and scheduling platform, our website and form infrastructure, our payment processor, and our email and SMS delivery providers. These providers are permitted to use your information only for the services they perform for us.
  • Professional advisors such as our accountant, insurer, or legal counsel, where reasonably required.
  • Authorities or other parties where disclosure is required or authorized by law.

If our business is sold or reorganized, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the recipient continuing to protect it under this policy.

7. Storage outside Canada

Some of our service providers store or process personal information on servers located outside of Canada, including in the United States. While that information is in another country, it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities of that jurisdiction under its laws. By using our services, you acknowledge this transfer. If you have questions about where your information is stored, contact our Privacy Officer using the details in section 11.

8. Security and retention

We protect personal information with security safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including access controls, encrypted transmission of data submitted through our website, and limiting staff access to what each person needs to do their job. Access credentials you provide — such as alarm codes or lock box codes — are treated as sensitive and shared only with the team assigned to your property.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy or to meet legal, tax, and insurance record-keeping obligations, after which it is securely destroyed or anonymized. Where we have used personal information to make a decision affecting you, we retain it for at least one year, as required by PIPA.

9. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, such as keeping your quote selections during a booking session. We may also use analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it; these tools collect aggregate usage data and standard technical information.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may prevent parts of the booking tool from working correctly.

10. Your rights

Subject to limited exceptions in PIPA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, and be told how it has been used and to whom it has been disclosed;
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Withdraw consent to further collection, use, or disclosure, as described in section 4;
  • Ask questions or complain about how we handle your information.

To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer below. We will respond within 30 business days, or tell you if we need an extension and why. There is no charge for a routine request; if a request requires substantial effort, we will provide a cost estimate in advance and proceed only with your approval.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (OIPC) at oipc.bc.ca.
